More than a third of working folk check their mobile devices in the morning before touching a toothbrush, a new study says.
Unsurprisingly, the mobile obsession is getting people's partners and families riled up. A whole quarter of the survey's respondents admitted that their smartphone attachment making their partners mad. And another six percent said it interfered with their relationship with their kids, too.
The study came from mobile business software firm iPass, which surveyed more than 3500 workers from companies around the world and turned up some pretty radical stats about people's mobile habits when they were away from work.
44 percent of workers polled kept their smart devices within arm's reach when they went to bed, 58 percent of these sleeping workers woke up voluntarily to check 'em.
And to catch up on those missed mails while they were actually asleep, 35 percent of the people in the study woke up and checked their email before they did anything else.
And what ever happened to down time? 91 percent of mobile workers sneak a peek at their mobile device during time off. (via Gigaom.)
