This week in celebrity real estate, Gloria Estefan is renting her guest house for a whopping $30,000 a month, Drew Barrymore sold her Montecito home, and Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson listed their L.A. home for sale.
Paying $30,000 a month in rent might be expected for a mansion, but for a guest house, it seems pretty steep. However, Gloria Estefan’s Jupiter Island rental in Florida is not just any guest house. The detached guest house measures 4,500 square feet with three bedrooms and three baths. The luxe master suite has its own guest bedroom, as well.
The Latin singer and her husband own two homes on Jupiter Island. The guest house rental is located on the grounds of her smaller home (7,988 square feet). The larger house is just a few mansions down the street and is 15,000 square feet.
Drew Barrymore recently sold her home in Montecito for $6.35 million. The home was first listed for $7.5 million, with the price chopped to $6.9 million just over a month ago.
The child actor turned Hollywood powerhouse didn’t buy the home that long ago, paying $5.7 million for the private estate in 2010. Barrymore married Will Kopelman at this Montecito home, but apparently that wasn’t enough of an emotional tie to hold onto the property. Barrymore has another home in L.A., but Kopelman is from the Big Apple, and news broke recently that the new couple are in contract to buy a duplex on Park Avenue.
The Santa Barbara-area home sits at the end of a long gravel drive on a secluded 2 acres. The house measures 6,000 square feet with six bedrooms and has an additional one-bedroom guesthouse.
The model-turned-actress Diane Kruger and her longtime partner, Joshua Jackson, best known for his role on “Dawson’s Creek,” are letting go of their contemporary L.A. retreat. The pair just listed the home for $1.519 million; they bought it in 2009 for $1.315 million.
Reportedly the two are selling as neither love the bright lights of Hollywood. Jackson is from Vancouver originally, and Kruger recently confessed that she prefers Paris, where she has an apartment next to fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld.
Although Kruger’s and Jackson’s home was built in 1920, the home is anything but dated. New appliances, subway tile and sleek pendant lights are found in the kitchen, dark hardwood covers the floor and many of the rooms are light-filled and modern. The house has 2,389 square feet of living space, three bedrooms and three baths.
