Moving on: That’s something rock guitarist Dave Navarro knows how to do with some made-for-TV theatrics.
Navarro overcame his failed marriage to “Baywatch” beauty Carmen Electra and the over-the-top reality TV show their nuptials inspired to reach new levels of Hollywood stardom, including gigs with Jane’s Addiction, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and his own Radio In TV show, "Dark Matter With Dave Navarro."
Now the tattooed one is looking to divest the Hollywood bachelor pad he purchased after his 2006 divorce from Electra.
The custom-decorated condo is listed for sale for $949,000 and sits on the fifth floor of the historic Broadway Hollywood building at 1645 Vine St. in Los Angeles and boasts killer views of the reinvigorated neighborhood.
The unit is a mirror of its glam-rock owner – a small but mighty pad that packs a lot of vibes in its 1,570-square-foot floor plan. The word is that Navarro spent about $125,000 renovating the place to suit his dramatic taste, including a Bocci chandelier, a black and red bathroom with a three-way Hollywood makeup mirror and quartz kitchen countertops.
The price is a little loftier than at least one other unit listed for sale in the building, but the décor and the views seem to warrant a premium. The 1927-era, 10-story Broadway Hollywood is one of Los Angeles’ most iconic addresses and is listed on both the California and National Historical registers.
The former department store was renovated into a 96-unit condo building that has seen Walk-of-Fame worthy residents set up house, including Charlize Theron and Jason Statham.
Legend has it that Howard Hughes kept an apartment on the top floor and accessed his office at The Pantages Theater by secret underground tunnel. There’s also a pretty cool view of the Capitol Records Tower to affirm the apartment’s location in one of Los Angeles’ most happening neighborhoods.
Navarro, whose rock resume also includes lead guitar work on Alanis Morissette’s smash hit “You Oughta Know,” won’t be homeless should he attract a buyer any time soon. Listing agent Skyler Hynes of Coldwell Banker International said Navarro owns another home in the Hancock Park section of L.A. and is just looking to sell the apartment because he was ready for a change.
