Most baby announcements don’t feature menacing looks and a throbbing beat, but one couple decided it was the perfect way to share the happy news.

Jalene and Lincoln Taylor of North Salt Lake, Utah, came up with the idea after struggling to conceive.

“Infertility is a very difficult, emotional roller coaster. One of the things that helped keep our spirits up was thinking of fun ideas on how to announce our pregnancy when it finally happened,” Jalene Taylor, 26, told TODAY Moms.

As they waited, there was much heartache followed by sudden joy. Taylor was finally able to get pregnant with fertility treatments this summer but ended up having a miscarriage. The couple was devastated, she said, but then the next month they found out Taylor was expecting again.

“(It) felt like a miracle had occurred,” she recalled. The search was on for a way to let their friends and family know.

“We didn't want to announce our pregnancy like everyone else. … We waited a long time for this baby, so we wanted the announcement to be awesome,” Taylor said.

They were fans of the Toyota “Swagger Wagon” video, so they decided to do a parody of the popular ad.

The couple wrote the lyrics over a weekend and enlisted the help of their friend and videographer Nathan Pickett to shoot the video. It took four hours to record the audio, and another four hours to record the footage.

“At first it was really hard not to laugh while shooting the video. We kept having to start over because we felt so ridiculous,” Taylor said.

“Once we got into a groove, we had so much fun. It is something I will always remember. I couldn't have asked for a better husband to do silly and fun stuff with.”

The lyrics of “Taylor Baby” feature a reference to “Jalincoln,” a combination of the couple’s first names, which has become their nickname, and lyrics such as, “Whether it’s a sweet baby girl or a cute baby boy, got a bun in the oven and we’re overjoyed.”

Taylor admitted her husband is better at rapping than she is, but said the goal of the video wasn’t an amazing performance. The couple just wanted to make their family and friends laugh. Mission accomplished, with the video getting a big reaction from their loved ones and on Facebook.

“Even people we haven't seen since high school reached out to us and told us how awesome it was. We felt really loved,” Taylor said. “It was a really fun way to spread the news.”

The baby is due in May.
