Small people on the job, better known as Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day, is happening today. So how are you occupying your kids while the boss is in the next room?
We asked readers on our TODAY Moms Facebook page to tell us how they keep kids busy and happy during a day at the office. (Because, come on, we all know some work days can be looong.) Reader Mary Galbreath, who posted a photo of her son at work learning to do computer coding with his dad last summer, shared this advice:
“The other workers love our kids and tend to stop by and talk to them often. Otherwise the kids will take games, books and notebooks to write in. Or teach them something in the same field as what you do.”

When Tim Blackburn took daughter Makayla to work, he kept his daughter’s attention with some Disney princess power. “Just had to put Cinderella on my TV and she was in heaven,” he writes.
And Abby Jo Brown, who brought her daughter in on a busy work weekend, just made sure she had all her bases covered, with snacks, activity books, crayons, toys and a cozy blanket to curl up on. “We just always try and make it fun,” says Brown.
Of course, for some parents, EVERY day is take your child to work day! "I'm a stay at home mama and I LOVE my job," says Ashleigh Adams, who also runs a small business from home making hairbands, bows, tutus and other fun accessories.
For the most part, TODAY Moms (and Dads) who take their kids to work just let their mini-mes shadow them in their work day, as shown in the photos below. Share your Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work photos on our TODAY Moms Facebook page.
