Sometimes, there’s no better antidote to the messy cocoon of new motherhood than getting all done up and stepping out for a night on the town.

New moms Claire Danes and Adele not only got their glamorous evening out at Sunday's Golden Globes awards in Beverly Hills, Calif., but they came up big winners, too.

Adele, who gave birth to a son in October, made her post-baby return to the spotlight at the awards show, picking up the Golden Globe for best original song for a motion picture with “Skyfall.”

After her win was announced, the nine-time Grammy winner high-fived “Skyfall” star Daniel Craig, hugged her girlfriend and expressed disbelief at her win.

“Honestly, I’ve come for a night out with my friend,” said Adele, 24, who dazzled in a black Burberry gown with beading. “We’re new mums. We’ve literally come for a night out. I was not expecting this.”

“It’s very strange to be here,” she continued in her acceptance speech. “Thank you for letting me be a part of your world for a night. It’s amazing.”

Danes, who won for best actress in a TV drama for “Homeland,” showed off her trim figure in a plunging red Versace gown just weeks after the birth of her son, Cyrus, on Dec. 17.

She thanked Katina Le Kerr, the show’s costume designer, “who took my pants out every damn week,” and her little boy, “for joining me throughout the whole process and being so game and fighting this war against terrorism.”

Cyrus was close by — upstairs at the Beverly Hilton, where the awards were held, with Danes’ parents. During an interview with Al Roker that aired on TODAY Monday, the 33-year-old actress highlighted the demands of breast-feeding an infant.

“My, my, my ... milk supply is starting to ... yeah,” she said, gesturing toward her body.

“We gotta go,” she said, adding with a laugh: “The Globes have to go.”

Adele also dedicated her statue to her family. “This is for my boyfriend, Simon, who convinced me to do it, and my lovely son,” she said on Sunday night, continuing the secrecy around her little boy’s name. In her interview with Roker, she joked about her good fortune.

“I’ve been on maternity leave,” she said. “I come back and win a Golden Globe. What a tragedy.”

Other new moms who were looking good at the Globes included presenter Megan Fox, who had a son in September, and Sienna Miller, who had a baby girl in July.
