Kate Hudson will never forget her son Bingham's birth -- or the utterly bizarre, loving antics her famous mom Goldie Hawn pulled in the delivery room.

On "Ellen" Thursday, Hudson, 33, retells how Hawn, 66, was her kooky adorable self when the time came in July 2011 for Bing's arrival.

"I called my mom to tell her I'm in the hospital and in labor. And she was like OK, well how much time do I have because I was going to take a swim," the "Glee" guest star tells Ellen DeGeneres.

"I'm just like, 'Can you get here in an hour?' She shows up and I have not eaten in like 10 hours. She shows up with a pizza and Doritos! She's like, 'I'm starving!'"

After the snack, Hawn dove right in. "She wants to be in control of everything," Hudson explains. "She puts on these reading glasses that have headlights on them. So now my mom, I'm looking up. I have my doctor and my mom kind of looking over with these headlights."

And the New Age devotee had some suggestions for how her daughter should manage the pains of labor. "She brings a magnolia flower. She brings this large magnolia. And she starts to do these visualizations with me. She's going, 'Imagine your va-jay-jay as a large magnolia flower blossoming."

Hudson wasn't a fan of the technique.

"I'm like, 'Mom, I don't want to imagine anything on my body that big ... ever!' I mean it was huge."

Her fiance and first-time dad Matt Bellamy was also behaving oddly -- attempting to film the birth in all its gory details with a flipcam.

"I'm really in labor and I see like Matt crawling towards the thing setting up the flip camera to try and get the right angle on the birth," she recalls. "Meanwhile, my mom's going 'That's not normal, is that normal?' It really was a Woody Allen film!"
