Thanks to E.L. James and her popular "Fifty Shades of Grey" erotic trilogy, we're friskier than ever. And when frisky happens, babies happen.

According to some newly expectant moms at BabyCenter.com, a 50 shades-inspired baby boom is heading our way. Call it erotica, call it mommy porn, call it a best-seller; women have found themselves obsessed with the love and wild-sex-infused story of Christian and Ana.

Guys may have originally mocked our communal obsession, but most quickly came to appreciate the benefits as the ladies in their lives devoured first the books, then them. Yes, women all over America embraced their inner goddesses and now they're getting ready to embrace motherhood. A user named brownierobinbird posted on a BabyCenter message board, "I would like to thank the author of '50 Shades of Grey' for our newest edition." Dozens of expectant moms chimed in to admit that they, too, are carrying a Grey baby. This anecdotal evidence is not scientific by any means, so time will tell if Ms. James and her kinky characters can truly be credited for inspiring a baby boom.

While Christian Grey, CEO, Grey Enterprises Holdings and Fantasy Subject Extraordinaire, may not have fathered these kids himself, a good number of them will be named after him. Name trend-watchers predict that Christian and Ana will be popular baby names within the next year. Okay ladies, fess up -- are you expecting a Grey baby? (Update at 11:37 ET: Thanks to our Facebook page we now know the new word for these 50 Shades progeny: Greybies.)

Dana Macario is a TODAY Moms contributor and Seattle mom to two young kids. She is only slightly embarrassed to admit that she read all three books in less than a week.
