The newest craze sweeping the Internet is baby mugging. Don't worry, it's not what it sounds like.

The recipe is pretty simple: You need a baby, a coffee mug and a camera. Photograph the baby behind the mug so that, with the magic of perspective, it looks like the child is in the cup. Then sit back and enjoy the hilarity that ensues.

Ilana Wiles of Mommy Shorts inspired this brilliant trend last week, when in the wake of the Boston Marathon bombings she didn't know what to post on her parenting humor website. "It felt weird in the days after to do a regular post," Wiles told TODAY Moms. Hoping to at least make someone smile, she posted a photo of her baby in a mug. Within hours, #babymugging and #babeinamug were officially a thing.

"I think it's just really easy and a tiny bit clever," said Wiles, who has been making collages of the baby muggery on her Instagram account.

Behold the cuteness:

Note: No actual babies are harmed in the process of baby mugging. Unless we find out years later that they've been psychologically traumatized by having their cute photos shared on social media, in which case, sorry about that, babies. But you know, babies and children require a LOT of coffee to keep up with, so if you think about it, it's really only fitting that we Instagrammed your photos in a mug... OK, fine, we'll pay for the therapy.
