A North Carolina couple had a bit of a shock last Thursday when they were arrested and charged on two misdemeanor counts each of marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia after their own 11-year-old child turned them in. Inspired by a lesson administered by a police officer as part of the D.A.R.E. program in his elementary school, the fifth-grader brought one of his parents’ marijuana cigarettes to school  and reported them.
