Rob Van Winkle (formerly known as Vanilla Ice) is enjoying a bit of a renaissance: He's been keeping busy with a new DIY Network home-renovation show, "The Vanilla Ice Project," and turns up in the new Adam Sandler-Andy Samberg vehicle, "That's My Boy," opening Father's Day weekend.
He stopped in to collaborate and listen with Kathie Lee and Hoda, and to update them about what he's been up to since his rapping days, when he was best known for his eyebrows and the unforgettable "Ice Ice Baby" bass line. The ladies wondered if that ever annoys him. But Rob remains a good sport despite years of people dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-da-ing and doing the running man at him.
"Is that something you look at you're like, please, I'm so past that?" asked Hoda.
"That song never gets old to me," Rob said. "Show me a smile, and I'll show you one back."
