It was Bring Your Dog to Work Day on the fourth hour Wednesday, which may have led to the greatest disappointment of Hoda's life.
Kathie Lee brought in Bambino and Sara toted along her Chihuahua, Trixie all leading up to a doggie yoga segment. Earlier in the show, KLG hinted to Hoda that she would soon be getting a dog friend of her own. Hoda has been saying "for years" how much she wants a puppy.
"Well, sometimes you wish for something and it's yours," said KLG. Would Hoda be getting a puppy on the show? The tension was unbearable.
Then, finally, Kathie Lee presented her with … a stuffed toy. While Sara, KLG and a dog yoga instructor enjoyed posing with their best friends, Hoda sat in a chair, clutching a plush Bambino-lookalike.
It was like every Christmas you asked for a pony and got a sweater.
At least Bambino seemed to enjoy it.
