Way to steal the show: Kathie Lee and Hoda make a brief appearance on "The Daily Show."

Eagle-eyed viewers of "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart: Live Election Night Special" on Nov. 6 might have noticed two very special guests: Kathie Lee and Hoda!

Well, they were only featured in the introduction, as part of a joke about how star-packed the show would be. The co-hosts appeared along with CNN's Anderson Cooper, NBC's Tom Brokaw, actor Patrick Stewart and many, many others. In the spot, Kathie Lee and Hoda declared "We've been drinking since the midterms!"

The ladies showed the clip on TODAY Wednesday, and made light of the fact that they really only appeared on the show for less than five seconds.

"That was the most work," sighed Hoda.

"Did we get paid for that?" wondered KLG.

It was for democracy's sake, KLG.

Julieanne Smolinski is a contributor who fully endorses drinking heavily during an election cycle.
