Do you enjoy lighting a candle, grabbing a book, and relaxing in the tub with a glass of french fries?
Well, you might as well be sipping that glass of fries -- turns out they have the same amount of calories as the wine you could be having instead. Julie Bain of the Ladies Home Journal delivered this sobering information to Kathie Lee and Hoda during their exercise episode today, hoping it'd be easier for them to give up Winesday Wednesday for a month if they knew how many calories they were saving.
Turns out? It's a lot of calories. Especially since Jerry is generous and doles out a 10-oz. pour to the ladies (instead of the standard 5-oz. serving size -- he's very generous). Instead, they could be noshing on 7 3/4 cups of popcorn, a small order of McDonald's fries, or half a cup of Ben and Jerry's Cherry Garcia ice cream. Even more depressing: Two glasses of champagne is the caloric equivalent of filet mignon. And that refreshing summer sangria? That's about a cupcake.
Well, who doesn't like to sip on a nice steak to complement her meal? The ladies were shocked at the amount of liquid calories in their vino (especially in a Fourth Hour serving size).
"It's not our fault, Jerry does the pouring!" said KLG.
Stay strong, ladies. Ice cream can be very therapeutic.
