The talent from "Dateline" popped by Tuesday to celebrate the show's 20th anniversary, but also to be extremely silly. "Dateline" hosts Keith Morrison, Chris Hansen, Dennis Murphy and Josh Mankiewicz joined the ladies for a glass of vino this morning, and to joke about their often-parodied on-air persona.
"You have no idea, when you're talking, what is does to Hoda," Kathie Lee told Keith Morrison of his sonorous voice. Hoda particularly enjoys the way Keith says "murder" (as parodied on "SNL" by cast member Bill Hader), so he indulged Hoda by purring about homicide.
"What's in store for the big anniversary special?" Hoda asked.
"Chopping up a husband," cooed Morrison.
Hoda also praised Chris Hansen for being so imposing on "To Catch a Predator," and he admitted that it's made people afraid of him in real life.
"One time I walked into a jewelry store, and the guy behind the counter and sweat started pouring down," said Hansen. "He said, 'Do you have a hidden camera?' and I said 'No man, I'm just trying to get a last-minute gift.'" Um, maybe you should have checked the back room, Chris?
The special airs May 22. Watch it if you love murrrrrrder.
