A New Jersey mom was arrested this week, when her five-year-old told classmates she'd "gone tanning" with her mom. A teacher overheard, the family believes, and they say she misunderstood. Officials at Lincoln Elementary school contacted the police, claiming the girl had burns on her body. 44-year-old mom Patricia Krentcil pleaded not guilty to second-degree child endangerment Wednesday, and said that her daughter went with her to the salon but not into the actual tanning bed, and that the burns were from playing outdoors.

Kathie Lee and Hoda weighed in this morning, particularly on the mom's slightly overdone-looking complexion, which they hoped was just case of too much bronzer.

"I don't want to make fun of a potentially dangerous situation, but it always surprises me that people get these procedures and think they look good," said Kathie Lee, adding that if you're so tan that people gasp at you, it's not a good thing.
