Hoda was a guest on "The Late Show with David Letterman" on Wednesday. And of course, Dave asked the question that the ladies get most often: do they ever get totally hammered on the show?

She admitted that, while they do drink every day at 10 AM on the nose, it's "usually just a little bit of vino." She added that TIME magazine once called them the "happy hour of the TODAY show" and that they've felt an obligation to be extra happy ever since.

"What percentage of the time are you two incoherent?" asked Dave.

"I'm incoherent right now," laughed Hoda.

Dave also asked her about the origins of her unusual name, which she said was actually quite common in Egypt.

"Is Hosni the male counterpart to Hoda?" he asked.

"I don't think so, but that's an excellent question," she replied.

"Ask your friend Kathie Lee, that lush," said Dave, who told Hoda to tell KLG he says hi.

"We'll call you from rehab," Hoda deadpanned.

The next day, KLG accused Hoda of "pouring on the sexual charm" for Dave (which Hoda fervently denied) and wondered why they didn't stick to talking about Hoda instead of her. Well, you can't help being fascinating, Kath. Don't fight it.
