Most people have yet to pick out their Halloween costumes, much less think about their grocery list for Thanksgiving. Yet Kmart has already rolled out its first commercial for Christmas.

“Don’t let the holidays sneak up on you," the voiceover says in the ad, which features an overgrown gingerbread man sneaking up on a woman in an office. “Get in, get more Christmas."

The commercial promotes the retailer's free layaway program, but it put Hoda in a less-than-jolly mood Thursday.

“I’m sorry, it’s too early for Christmas,” she said. “I don’t care if it’s layaway. It’s really early.”

Kmart commercials have received a lot of attention since releasing a particularly humorous ad earlier this year that employed some cheeky wordplay. That “ship my pants” commercial, which promoted free online shipping , remains a favorite of the Fourth Hour ladies, who replayed it Thursday.

“It’s genius,” KLG declared.
