"I would give ... almost everybody hope."

With the new year approaching, it's time to think about how to make the future bright. For some fresh insight, we decided to consult our next generation of leaders: kids. The good news? 2017 is bound to be full of ice cream.

The answers from these kids made us remember that sometimes the smallest thing, for example, being kind to someone, can make the biggest impact in the world.

Here are some of their thoughts on how we can change the world:

Raquel, 8

"If I can change one thing about the world, it would be stopping the war."

Sadie, 7

"That you're not allowed to smoke."

Sam, 5

"I could change something about the world, and it would be to tell other people to treat each other-- like you want-- would wanna be treated."

Dylan, 5

"I would change ice cream stores.... because I would — I would let them get more ice cream."

Deanna, 8

"I'd change, like, how people sometimes act mean to each other. I'd make it, like, a kind world."
