Why are people out there trying to hurt me? That’s what Janet Jackson is asking after a couple of particularly embarrassing recent revelations about the pop star.

Jackson’s lawyers have been working overtime to purge the Internet of a video that appears to be the singer sunbathing nearly nude, rubbing tanning oil on her body, and playing a little tune on her buttocks bongo-drum style.

Several Web sites have removed the footage, apparently after being contacted by Jackson’s reps. The effort comes as news hit the press of a report from a former in-law that seems to confirm something Janet Jackson fans have long whispered: that she secretly has a teenage daughter .

“I believe that she’s particularly unhappy about this video because she’s not in great shape,” says a source. “She doesn’t look that attractive. It’s not the six-pack abs Janet that we see in her videos.”

Gone to the dogs
Courtney Love’s troubles have trickled down to her dog’s life.

The rocker dropped off her pooch at a vet’s office in the spring and still hasn’t picked him up, according to a report.

Love took her 13-year-old German Shepherd, Lloyd, to the Beverly Hills Small Animal Hospital in March after he had a stroke and she left him there, according to the Star, which reports that Lloyd is now up for adoption.

“Initially, after the stroke, Lloyd couldn’t walk,” a source told the tab. “But now he’s able to scamper around with the cutest cocked head. He’s absolutely adorable. Sadly, though, Lloyd’s now living in a concrete cage. It’s tragic.”

Notes from all over
Gwyneth Paltrow, who’s rumored to be pregnant with her second child, has told friends she’d like six children. “I don’t think she really meant that she’d have six,” says a source. “But she likes children that much.”  . . . Donald Trump thinks that a boast by Gene Simmons that the KISS rocker bedded 4,600 women is no exaggeration. “Now Gene’s a friend of mine,” noted Trump. “I actually think he slept with more women than that.” . . . Someone give Liz Hurley a saucer of milk. The sometime actress commented that Sienna Miller’s new haircut exposes her “flaws.” Said Hurley, “That’s the thing about valuing trends above sexiness. It exposes your flaws. That cut exposes the poor girl.”
