The Monongalia County Sheriff's Department used an underage operative to do alcohol compliance checks at 12 different businesses around the county and all twelve passed, officials said.
The checks were done on Thursday at:
Dollar General on High Street
BFS Liquor
Dairy Mart on Wiley Street
Kroger at Suncrest Towne Centre
CVS on Chestnut Ridge Road
Walgreens on Chestnut Ridge Road
Sheetz on Chestnut Ridge Road
Dairy Mart on Van Voorhis Road
Rite Aid on Patteson Drive
Kroger on Patteson Drive
BFS on University Avenue
Sunnyside Superette on University Avenue
In a news release, the sheriff's department says that it commends the businesses for requiring proper identification before selling alcohol.
Sheriff's deputies will be doing more compliance checks in the county, according to officials.
