A historical plaque marks the spot where the first couple first kissed.

The marker, erected outside a former Baskin-Robbins at Dorchester Avenue and 53rd Street in Chicago's Hyde Park neighborhood, was installed this week by the nearby shopping center's owners.

Set upon a boulder surrounded by flowers, the plaque reads, "On our first date, I treated her to the finest ice cream Baskin-Robbins had to offer, our dinner table doubling as the curb. I kissed her, and it tasted like chocolate."

The quote is credited to President Barack Obama during a February 2007 interview in "O, The Oprah Magazine."

"On this site, President Barack Obama first kissed Michelle Obama," the plaque reads.

The area has changed a bit since the couple's first kiss in 1989. For one, the Baskin Robbins is now a Subway restaurant. But that didn't matter to the owners of Dorchester Commons, who commissioned the marker more than two years ago.

This isn't the first time the Obamas' romantic firsts have been on display.

The couple gushed in June about their first dinner date in a video released to promote a donation-driven contest called Dinner with Barack (and Michelle).

The love birds apparently visited the Art Institute of Chicago and ate lunch in the museum's courtyard near a fountain. They then took a long stroll down Michigan Avenue and saw the 1989 Spike Lee flick "Do the Right Thing."

"He showed all the signs," Michelle Obama gushed. "He was hip, cutting edge, cultural, sensitive. The fountain, nice touch."

"Take tips, gentlemen," President Obama quipped.
