Statement from buybuy Baby:
“We are so pleased to hear that our buybuy Baby store associate provided your reporter with a high level of customer service, and useful information regarding crib bumpers. We are aware of the current debate about the use of crib bumpers, and therefore we offer crib sets with and without crib bumpers to accommodate all of our customers. We also offer non-padded alternatives including mesh liners.”

Statement from Babies “R” Us:
“The safety of our customers is — and always has been — our highest priority. Beyond putting in place industry-leading product safety standards, we have developed educational resources in partnership with leading safety advocacy organizations to provide guidance for parents on creating a safe sleeping environment for their babies. These tips include information on removing pillows, comforters, pillow-like bumper pads, stuffed toys and other soft products from the crib before putting a baby to sleep. Visit our dedicated safety website at Toysrus.com/Safety for more information.

We have taken this opportunity to retrain employees on this matter.”

Statement from Target:
“Target is committed to providing an assortment of safe, high-quality products to our guests from well-known and trusted manufacturers. All our infant products are labeled with the appropriate regulated warnings and include the manufacturer’s instructions for safe use. We continually evaluate our team member training and have been in the process of developing more in-depth training for the infant and toddler section.”
