Two years after becoming the first Arab-American to be named Miss USA, Rima Fakih has been sentenced to community service and probation for a drunken driving charge in Michigan.

Fakih, 26, avoided any jail time by pleading no contest to driving while visibly impaired on the night of her arrest in December in Highland Park, a suburb of Detroit. Judge William McConico gave her six months’ probation and 20 hours of community service while ordering her to pay $600 in fines and court costs. Fakih also has to undergo a mandatory alcohol safety class and a victim impact class.

The former Miss Michigan, who was crowned Miss USA in 2010, said she was not drinking on the night she was arrested. Two breath tests administered by police registered her blood alcohol level at more than twice the legal limit, according to a report by The Associated Press.
