Not only do iPhone users love their phones, they're apt to stick with their carrier — AT&T, Verizon and Sprint — even when the service is bad.
In contrast, Android phone owners are quick to switch to another provider, according to a survey of 992 U.S. mobile phone users from Rebtel, the second-largest VoIP provider behind Skype.
Here's the difference: 29 percent of iPhone owners said they would not switch carriers even with bad service, compared to only 19 percent of Android phone owners.
And rocky service seems to be a widespread problem. Nearly 40 percent of people surveyed said they experience five or more dropped calls each month.
What do they do when they can't get service? Thirty-four percent turn to text messaging and 18 percent said they turn to Facebook and other social networks to connect. For those who decide enough is enough, men are 20 percent more likely than women to change carriers.
