Watch as President Obama belts out a bit of Al Green's classic "Let's Stay Together" at a fundraiser in New York's Apollo Theater Thursday night.

He was thanking the superstar singer for performing earlier at the event. "Don't worry, Rev, I cannot sing like you," Obama said to Green after crooning a line from the tune, "but I just wanted to show my appreciation."

Update: Al Green spoke to TMZ on Friday, saying the president "nailed it!" The singer was "thrilled that the president even mentioned my name."

Did the president do the sultry song justice? Vote!
