Recipe: Sami's granola

  • 3 cups oats (not quick oats)
  • 1/4 cup of flax seeds
  • 1 cup nuts of choice, 1 cup each of dried berry (cranberries or cherries) and raisins
  • 1.5 tablespoon of cinnamon
  • 4 tablespoons honey
  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup canola oil or vegetable oil
  • 1 box of Muselix cereal
  • 2 cookie sheets

In small sauce pan, heat together 4 tablespoons of honey & a 1/2 to 3/4 cup of canola oil (or vegetable oil). Take off heat once they heat/mix together. Combine 1 box of Mueslix cereal (has wheat and corn flakes, raisins, etc) and then mix up with fingers or spatula.

Pour the honey and oil mixture over dry ingredients, coat all ingredients thoroughly (add more oil if it seems dry). Distribute evenly over 2 cookie sheets Bake at 275-degrees for an 1 hour or 1 hour and 15 minutes. Then remove and make sure to stir around every now and then so everything gets heated. Let cool completely so it becomes crispy and then enjoy!

Recipe: Joanie's Christmas cream cheese pie

  • 3 8 ounce cream cheese
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 3 Egg Whites
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 2 cups Sour Cream
  • Graham Crackers
  • Topping
  • 2 cups sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons sugar

Beat cream cheese still softened. Beat 3 egg whites till stiff and them beat into cream cheese mixture. Add 1 tablespoon vanilla. Set aside.

Butter 9-inch pie pan, spread graham cracker crumbs over the bottom of the pie pan. Pour in cream cheese mixture. Bake in 350 degree oven for 20-25 minutes and then let it cool.

Mix 2 cups sour cream and 2 tablespoons sugar then spread mixture on top of cooled cream cheese mixture. Bake for 5 minutes at 450 degrees. Once cooled decorate if desired.
