NEW YORK — "Satanic Verses" novelist Salman Rushdie has turned satiric in a series of Twitter feeds about the doomed marriage of reality TV star Kim Kardashian.

Rushdie tweeted late Tuesday:
"The marriage of poor kim #kardashian was krushed like a kar in a krashian"
"her kris kried, not fair! why kan't I keep my share?"
"But kardashian fell klean outa fashian."Kardashian says, 'I'd never marry for money'
Rushdie tweeted on @SalmanRushdie his inspiration was that he was challenged and he "Can't resist a challenge."
Kardashian has apologized to fans for her failed marriage. She says she plans to donate the gifts from the couple's $172,000 wedding registry to the Dream Foundation, which helps adults facing life-threatening illnesses.
