Mindy Kaling from "The Office" has a new book, "Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?" I want it. Because, really, I want to be friends with Kaling and outside of her twitter feed, this is the closest I can get. In reading a funny lady’s memoir, I can feel cool by association, a laff riot thanks to the literary company I keep. Written by some of the entertainment industry’s funniest gals, here are a few memoirs that are sure to be your new best friends…and to keep you chuckling for a long time.

By Tina Fey
(Reagan Arthur Books)
I want to go to there. Namely, Fey’s brain. I’ll settle for "Bossypants," which is a pastiche of her memories, jokes, skits, and scripts, taking us behind the scenes and inside the mind of TV’s reigning queen of comedy. And one of the reasons she’s so darn funny and charming is that she uses herself and her experiences to make hilarious but spot-on commentary about being a thinking woman in today’s culture.

‘Wishful Drinking’
By Carrie Fisher
(Simon & Schuster Paperbacks)
Fisher sets the bar for frankness, discussing electroshock therapy and bipolar disorder, not to mention her celebrity parents, famous ex-husband, drinking, and "Star Wars." Also a one-woman show, "Wishful Drinking" moves along at a merry clip, thanks to Fisher’s wry, honest voice.

‘Official Book Club Selection: A Memoir According to Kathy Griffin’
By Kathy Griffin
(Ballantine Books)
You’ve seen her on TV for years, most recently on her Bravo reality show and stand-up specials. You may have caught her stand-up act when she blew through town. She may be everywhere, but Kathy Griffin is right at home in the pages of her inappropriate, dishy, and oh-so-readable memoir. She starts off talking about Britney’s bits and pieces and you know that you’re going to get page after page of pure, raucous Kathy.

‘The Bedwetter’
By Sarah Silverman
(Harper Paperback)
Sarah Silverman is a brave woman. She’s also shockingly funny, and the combination results a lively read. Learn about Silverman’s New Hampshire childhood and her bedwetting problem, which trickled into adolescence. The memoir also covers the beginnings of her comedy career, which included a season writing for "Saturday Night Live" and never seeing any of her sketches make it past dress rehearsal. That had to hurt, but not as much as your sides will ache reading Silverman’s personal and very compelling story.

‘I Know I Am But What Are You’
By Samantha Bee
Samantha Bee brings the wry brand of Canadian humor that has made her such a hit on "The Daily Show." This collection of essays is sort of a highlight reel of her life, touching on her brief stint as a juvenile delinquent in Bermuda shorts and her wide-ranging resume, which included working at a penis clinic and on a touring children’s show before finding her comedic groove. Bee will have you in stitches from page one.
