A bride and groom reached out to Occupy Cincinnati protesters to be part of their wedding day.
Before her wedding, bride-to-be Caroline Hyatt had planned to attend the protest, one of dozens of offshoots of the movement that began a month ago in New York City, but was too busy planning for the wedding.
She says the couple had already planned to go to occupied Piatt Park for pictures, and they thought it would be great to make the protesters, whom they support, part of their important day.
"We wanted them to be a part of our photos, and they were warmly accommodating," said groom Nathan C. Lee.
The beaming bride and groom posed with protesters holding a sign that read LOVE CONQUERS ALL.
The protesters have been camping in the park for just more than a week in protest of what they say is too much corporate influence in American government. They say they have no intention of leaving any time soon.
Over the weekend, tens of thousands gathered in cities around the world to rally against what they see as corporate greed. Protesters in at least four U.S. cities supporting the growing anti-Wall Street movement were arrested after refusing to obey police orders to leave public areas, including 175 people in Chicago.
Most of the marches were largely nonconfrontational, but in Rome, rioters hijacked what had been a peaceful gathering, causing an estimated $1.4 million in damages. In addition to the arrests in Chicago, there were dozens of arrests in Denver and Phoenix.
