>>> newlyweds kim kardashian and kris humphries jetted off for a short honeymoon but titit's the lavish wedding that people can't quit talking about. assistant managing editor is here with some of the exclusive wedding photos. people really had some behind the scenes access to this wedding . what are some of the things we'll see in this issue?
>> we certainly did. and what you will see is about the most lavish wedding you can imagine. if you or i were to have this wedding , it would cost about $6 million. if you're a kardashian, diskourn, beautiful, lavish black and white wedding , old hollywood theme, lots of celebrity friends. just a really, really memorable event.
>> so "people" was sort of the official wedding photographer. did you getting a cess to the whole day? what kind of pictures will we see?
>> you will see pictures of kim getting ready, three dresses by vera wang , full length pictures of that, celebrating with her fam family, guests, ryan seacrest , the whole thing. it's a wedding album . it would be as if you were looking at your own wedding album and a lot of celebrities went to your wedding .
>> do they go the traditional wedding photos?
>> yes. kids running around. the pictures we all have cropped over our wedding guests, hi, here we are. those kinds of things, yes.
>> other than the jaw-dropping price tag you just mentioned what do you think would surprise readers most about this wedding ?
>> what's interesting about this wedding is of course it is lavish. it is a royal wedding in a sense she is the queen of reality tv and all of us would dream of having a wedding this extravaga extravagant. on the other hand, on the part of it it's a family's wedding . you will see her nephew mason with his custom cut tuxedo and a diaper and her and her family interacting like any family would. it has a homey quality.
>> she did have three dresses. why? was it just a matter she couldn't choose so, what the heck, i'll just wear all of them?
>> i thought maybe she couldn't make up her mind. actually she's a real planner and planned each dress for each moment. she has a very old hollywood, very beautiful dress that she walked down the aisle in and then a more simple elegant kind of gown and dthen another gown. she had three different moments. like you do.
>> like you do. i think a lot 078 of people are wondering how this works. you get some comped. did she get some stuff for free?
>> i think the biggest surprise or the biggest kind of interesting thing for me was she wore about $15 million worth of diamonds from los angeles . she walked down the aisle with a head piece alone which was 65 karats. i don't know how you hold your head up with 65 karats. he had a 20.5 karat engagement ring . she keeps that. she has a wedding band that has 15 karats worth of diamonds in it. some of that stuff goes back to the people who lent it to her. it's a good promotion for them and people like her. and, you know, that's the statement.
>> and she had the whole wedding was for everyone to see. the honeymoon seems a bit more private.
>> the honeymoon is not for the cameras. they are going off to a very private honeymoon in europe. she will come back in new york city , he will go back to the nets. they will want to start a family so i assume more parties.
