Jon Cryer and Charlie Shen may have had their differences, but that didn't mean Cryer wasn't concerned for his well-being.

Sure, Charlie Sheen had previously slammed Jon Cryer by calling him a troll, but that doesn't mean Cryer has written the "Two and a Half Men" star out of his life (even if the show did).

The actor explains on "Ellen" (airing Wednesday) that he was genuinely concerned about Sheen's downward spiral.

"Mostly I was worried that Charlie was going to die," Cryer says. "That was the big fear for me."

"And that ... that did not occur and I'm thrilled about that," Cryer says.

No, Sheen is definitely still alive and kickin', but that doesn't mean everything is all fine and dandy between the two actors.

Ellen DeGeneres asks a question we've all wondered, "Now when he said bad things about you, you were so gracious. You were great. You didn't say anything back. Since then, he has apologized. Have you spoken to him since?"

"We have not spoken," Cryer replies. "And I will accept an apology both public and private. But again, it was in the heat of the moment I imagine when he said.... So I did not put a whole lot of credence in it at the time."

We guess a half-apology just doesn't cut it.
