Could Ricki Lake be the new Kirstie Alley on “Dancing with the Stars”?

Like Kirstie, Marie Osmond and Kelly Osbourne before her, Ricki is hoping the rigorous training and hours prepping to compete for ballroom glory helps her to drop some extra pounds.

“I fell in love, and I got a little fluffy this year,” the 42-year-old former talk show host told "Access Hollywood Live’s" Kit Hoover on Monday night, following the Season 13 cast announcement.

“Not a lot fluffy, but like a little fluffier than I want to be,” she explained. “This is definitely time for me to shed the (pounds) for my wedding next year.”

Ricki, who announced her engagement to Christian Evans earlier this month, said her groom-to-be is already her biggest “Dancing” fan.

“He is the best, he’s so supportive,” the mother of two gushed. “He just wants me to shine and pursue every dream.”

One of Ricki’s dreams is taking home the mirrorball trophy and besting her fellow “DWTS” competitor and pal David Arquette.

“There’s no question, I’m going to bust my a--, David, to take you on!” Ricki said throwing down a challenge to the “Scream” franchise actor. “Maybe we’ll see each other at the finals.”

Ricki told Kit that she could visualize herself winning.

“I do (have the competitive edge) ... I have it in my head that I can do this,” she continued. “I love David, and I think he’s really going to be a challenge and I’m just going to hopefully get inspired by him.”

Adding with a laugh, “And maybe trip him ... no, I’m just kidding!”

  3. David Arquette

    Actor David Arquette -- brother to actors Patricia Arquette, Rosanna Arquette, Alexis Arquette and Richmond Arquette -- is best known for his work in the film series "Scream." He is also married to actress Courteney Cox, but the two are currently separated.

    Ron Artest is a forward for the Los Angeles Lakers, and is known for being eccentric off the court. (He has filed papers to legally change his name to Metta World Peace.) On the basketball court, he is perhaps best known for the November 2004 Pacers-Pistons fight. Artest, a Pacer at the time, rushed into the stands to confront a fan who threw a drink at him, which led to the biggest player-fan fight to date.

    GLBT activist Chaz Bono is the only child of Sonny Bono and Cher. His documentary, "Becoming Chaz," followed his gender transition, and was nominated for three Emmys.

In addition to acting, Martinez is a motivational speaker.
