"Say Anything" came out in 1989, but it's still fondly remembered. John Cusack's iconic scene in which he holds up a boombox playing "In Your Eyes" as well as his speech about how he doesn't want to "sell anything, buy anything, or process anything as a career" are film-world favorites.

But could Cusack's Lloyd Dobler come back and fill viewers in on what really happened to him after the events of the movie? Maybe, The Wrap.com reports.

Director Cameron Crowe told critics at the Television Critics Association summer press tour that the film "is the only thing I've written that I would consider (making a sequel to)." He went on to say "I've thought about it from time to time, and talked about it with John Cusack once. This is the only story  that ... there might be another chapter to at some point."

He went on to say that if a sequel were made, "we have to keep the guy that Lloyd Dobler has to drive home from the prom party -- he's got to come back."
