Last week you talked about what the best Harry Potter book was. What about movies? I think the latest one was the best. --B.C., Dearborn, Missouri

You speak of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," the second installment of which debuts on the big screen July 15. On that day, it all ends, or so the posters inform me.

Vote for the best Harry Potter film

But I have news for you. When it comes to your film choice, you just might be wrong:

For, according to the critics, the best movie so far is definitely not "Deathly Hallows: Part I." (There are no mainstream reviews yet for Part II, but early and trade critics have been kind.)

Instead, film writers adore the third installment above all others. "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" merited a 91 percent fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

The other films have hovered between "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" (87 percent) to "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" (78 percent).

WANTED: Lord Voldemort's Nose

I know, I know, I've said that critics don't matter, but in this case, I agree with them. I loved "Prisoner," the only Potter film directed by Alfonso Cuaron, who also directed "Y Tu Mama Tambien" and "Children of Men," and produced "Pan's Labyrinth."
