It’s official. “Dallas” is returning.

TNT confirmed to Access Hollywood on Friday that the reboot of the famed 1980s primetime soap opera has been given the green light to shoot a 10-episode series, which will premiere next summer.

The reboot reunites returning stars Larry Hagman (J.R. Ewing), Patrick Duffy (Bobby Ewing) and Linda Gray (Sue Ellen), alongside newcomers to the series — former “Desperate Housewives” stars Josh Henderson, Jesse Metcalfe and Brenda Strong, as well as Jordana Brewster and Julie Gonzalo.

“TNT has explored the possibility of an updated version of ‘Dallas’ for several years, but it wasn’t until we read Cynthia Cidre’s outstanding pilot script that we knew we had the foundation for a great new series,” Michael Wright, executive vice president, head of programming for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies, said in a statement. “It is incredibly exciting to see both new and familiar characters in the hands of a dream cast under the guidance of the enormously talented Cidre and Mike Robin. We couldn’t be more pleased with how ‘Dallas’ has come together.”

Viewers can get a first look at the new version of “Dallas” this coming Monday during the season premiere of “The Closer,” which airs at 9 p.m. ET/PT, and during “Rizzoli & Isles,” which hits the small screen at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

“I feel truly blessed to be apart of this and it’s gonna be an awesome ride!!!” Henderson tweeted to Access Hollywood after the news broke on Friday.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, the new “Dallas” will focus on the Ewing offspring as they clash over the family dynasty.

Josh will play John Ross, J.R.‘s son.

Jordana will play Elena, who becomes involved in a love triangle between John and his cousin – Christopher, played by Jesse.

The original “Dallas” aired on CBS from 1978 to 1991.
