"Hands down, Montgomery Burns on 'The Simpsons' has to be the worst. He has demonstrated homicidal tendencies, hatching plans that could result in the deaths of all the citizens of Springfield, has blatant disdain for all of his employees and their safety, pollutes the environment to the point of deformed fish in the nearby waterways, and employees Homer Simpson, of all people, as a safety technician. The devil is my boss
"Miranda Priestly in 'The Devil Wears Prada' so fabulously portrayed by Meryl Streep. The constant once-over of what I'm wearing, the condescending tone and no boundaries of job responsibilities. All of it gives me chills just imagining having to endure that type of treatment." --Monique, Pa.
"Buddy Ackerman from 'Swimming with Sharks.' With a boss so bad as Buddy, you can understand why his assistant felt the need to abduct him and subject him to cruel tortures for the abuse endured at Buddy's hands." --Andrew, Ore.
Dan Hedaya as Mr. Waturi in 'Joe vs. The Volcano.' Tom Hanks' character is stuck working in a stifling, mundane environment, and Mr. Waturi is one of those bosses who make all the little details seem vitally important because he can't understand or control anything beyond that. He's a bully who uses his power to push people around and degrade them. (Unfortunately, I have worked for too many people like him) His ineptitude is apparent in the ridiculous telephone conversations he has where he repeats the same things over and over. "I'm not arguing that with you. I'm not arguing that with you. I know he can GET the job but can he DO the job? I KNOW he can get the job, but can he DO the job? I'm not arguing that with you." --Una, Maine
