Teen Mom's Jenelle Evans Gets Lucky--in Court

MTV execs can breathe a sigh of relief. Their latest reality trainwreck has managed to avoid the slammer in her drug case.

Jenelle Evans, star of the cable network's popular 16 and Pregnant spinoff series, Teen Mom 2, pleaded guilty today to a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, E! News has learned.

So does that mean she's off the hook? Not exactly.

Per a clerk for the North Carolina Brunswick County Court, Evans was sentenced to 12 months of supervised probation, ordered to pay court costs and to complete 24 hours of community service within 60 days. As part of the plea agreement, the other charges against the TV troublemaker--breaking and entering and possession of marijuana--were dismissed.

The case stems from her arrest last October when she and boyfriend Keiffer Delp allegedly broke into an Oak Island house.

Evans' attorney, Dustin Sullivan, tells E! he's pleased with the outcome, noting that because his client's a first-time offender, she was given a deferred prosecution, meaning that if she complies with her probation, the entire case could be dismissed in a year.

"We have a court date in 12 months, and as long as she does her community service, pays her fees and doesn't' violate the law, the charges will be dismissed," says Sullivan.

He added, "She does not have a record and she still not have any convinctions."

At least not yet. But she seems to be trying hard for the cameras.

Evans, 19, is also facing two misdemeanor assault and affray charges stemming from her arrest for a highly publicized brawl last month involving her nemesis and fellow teen mom, Britany Truett. She has since accused so-called pal Britany Maggard of setting her up in order to sell a video of the fight for big bucks.

A court hearing in that case is set for April 26.

Three days later, Jenelle is due back in court to answer to additional counts of breaking and entering, injury to real property, trespassing and making harassing phone calls in a separate case, but because there are no convictions, neither of these legal battles are expected to affect her probation.
