The cameras have stopped rolling for the cast of Bravo's "The Real Housewives of D.C.," as the network announced Thursday that the low-rated show will not be returning for a second season.VIDEO: Michaele flees after being asked about White House incident

This marks the first time in "Housewives" history that one of the installments has been canceled.

"We had an amazing season and we told stories that were unique to any other in the franchise," Andy Cohen, Bravo's executive vice president or original programming and development, told The Washington Post. "I wish all our D.C. wives the best and hope to work with them again in another capacity."

The D.C. installment -- whose most notable cast member was White House party crasher Michaele Salahi, 45 -- was the fifth series of the franchise to air on the network, which currently has versions set in Orange County, New York City, Atlanta, New Jersey, Beverly Hills and Miami.
