Kim Kardashian was likely "mistaken" about her Twitter account being hacked.

Kim Kardashian claimed her Twitter account was hacked, but one security expert said it was a false alarm.

The model and reality TV star posted a message on her Twitter account Tuesday reading, “Twitter please help me get my password back! How is it that I can tweet from my cell but my home computer says wrong password!”

Her Twitter feed, @KimKardashian, has more than 6 million followers, hundreds of whom responded to Kardashian’s plea for help with advice such as “that’s not cool, hope twitter sorts it out for u,” and “change to a new password, you should be fine :).”

The fact that Kardashian was able to post updates via cell phone but not her home computer raised a red flag for Graham Cluley, senior technology consultant for the security firm Sophos.

“It seems possible that she was mistaken,” Cluley wrote in a Sophos blog. “Her mobile phone still allowed her to post messages, including the one that claimed she had been hacked whilst she claimed was unable to log in via Twitter.com.”

In many celebrity Twitter hacks — like the ones launched against musicians Lil Wayne, Axl Rose and Britney Spears — the perpetrators use the opportunity to post joke messages. In this case, Cluley said no abuse of Kardashian’s account was found. He believes she simply may have forgotten her password.

The following tweet announced that Kardashian had regained access to her account.

“Ok guys its really me … I’m back! That was sooo annoying! Hackers are so lame. Like what’s the point!”
