Following her divorce from Robert “Mutt” Lange in May 2008, the country superstar confirmed that she was dating Frederic in August 2009.

Lange allegedly had an affair with Shania’s good friend and Frederic’s wife, Marie-Anne Thiebaud. Both Lange and Marie-Ann denied that their own relationship was the reason the two couples split.

In the wake of her husband’s alleged tryst, Shania became close with Frederic.

“I’m in love!” the Canadian beauty blogged following her recent engagement news. “Frederic Nicolas Thiebaud has been a true gift to me as a compassionate, understanding friend and over time, an amazing love has blossomed from this precious friendship.”
