Paula Abdul is just days away from the premiere of her CBS reality series, “Live to Dance,” and in the run up to the show’s debut, she’s hitting back at some of the misconceptions about the former Laker Girl-turned-international-pop-superstar-turned-reality-TV-judge.
In a new interview for “CBS Sunday Morning,” Abdul told interviewer Julie Chen which misconception about herself she dislikes the most.

“I am intelligent. I am,” Abdul said.
“But, people don’t give you enough credit for having a brain?” Chen asked.

“Having a brain, that’s a concept, yes, with Paula Abdul. I have a brain,” Abdul said.
Chen also asked Abdul to set the rumors straight — once again — about alcohol, asking the former “American Idol” judge if she ever had a drinking problem.
“I’ve never had a drinking problem. ... Even though I’ve been in this business for quite some time,” Abdul insisted. “I’ve never physically been drunk in my life. I’ve never been drunk in my life. I don’t use recreational drugs. But, I am goofy.”

“So, it’s just Paula?” Chen asked.
“It’s Paula. It is Paula. And, even the people on ‘Idol’ know that none of that existed, ever,” she said.
Abdul’s “Live to Dance” premieres on CBS on Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET.
