“Jersey Shore’s” pint-sized, self-proclaimed guidette, will now drop from a ball in her stomping grounds of Seaside Heights, N.J., as part of MTV’s “New Year’s Bash 2011.”
“We love our Times Square home and while we’re disappointed there won’t be a Snooki ball drop there, she cannot be denied! So we’re taking a road trip to the place where it all began, Seaside Heights, and droppin’ it all there,” MTV said in a statement.

TMZ, which first reported the story, posted photos of a clear ball, emblazoned with “Snooki” on the top, being assembled in Jersey.
The Times Square Alliance and Countdown Entertainment organization, which co-produces Times Square’s New Year’s Eve event, previously told Entertainment Weekly that Snooki’s NYC ball drop plans came too late.

“It was never intended or requested for Snooki to be in the actual New Year’s Eve Ball in Times Square. The request to have her in a separate ball on a set-back roof came too late and was too impractical to fit in to our outdoor events,” a producer for the group said in a statement to EW.
