"La Ink" star Kat Von D, who is dating Jesse James, just lost her cat to a house fire.

Whether you like her or not, her choice in men or not, you really have to feel for Kat Von D.

The reality star, professional inker and Jesse James gal pal is mourning the loss of her cat Valentine — along with more or less all of her earthly possessions — in the wake of a devastating house fire.

"My house burned down last night with my cat inside," she tweeted yesterday, along with a photo of both the destruction wrought by the blaze, and a picture of her beloved hairless cat.

"In order to gain everything, you must lose everything...R.I.P. My little Valentine."

The tragedy struck in the middle of the "L.A. Ink"  star's signing tour for her new book, "The Tattoo Chronicles." She will soldier on nonetheless.

"No, I'm not canceling the rest of the booktour," she tweeted today. "Rooftop n I are here in Vancouver. Thank you all for comforting words.. Means so much. 3

"Btw. I am so looking forward to meeting all your smiling faces at these booksignings! Remember, POSITIVE ENERGY FEEDS POSITIVE ENERGY."
