Fantasia's boyfriend, Antwaun Cook, is speaking out against his estranged wife's claims that the singer was responsible their marriage ending.

The statement went on to attempt to remove the singer, who was hospitalized last week after a medication overdose, from the couple's marital drama.

"[Paula and Antwaun] expected their marriage to stand the test of time. Unfortunately, like many marriages, it did not turn out as planned," the statement continued. "In late summer 2009, after years of discussion, the parties separated with the intention of no longer being married... the failure of his marriage can in no way be blamed on anyone except the two people that were a part of the union - Paula and Antwaun."

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Fantasia was named in court documents in the separation of Paula and Antwuan. Paula claimed that the singer made multiple sex tapes with her husband.

In a statement to Access, the singer's rep called Paula's claims "totally false."

Four days after the "American Idol" Season 3 winner, 26, overdosed she was photographed with Antwaun at a park near her home in North Carolina, with a camera crew for her VH1 reality show, "Fantasia for Real" reportedly in tow, according to People.
