President Barack Obama made a visit to the ladies of “The View” Wednesday afternoon to tape an episode that airs Thursday. And although all five hosts were on hand with a variety of questions about his tactics for solving the administration’s biggest problems, there was a burning question the hosts could not resist asking: Will the president be at Chelsea Clinton’s wedding?
Obama started out by joking, “You don’t want two presidents at one wedding! All the secret service, guests going through (metal detectors), all the gifts being torn apart …”
Then host Barbara Walters asked directly if he was even invited to the nuptials, which are being held in upstate New York this weekend. The president said no.
“I was not invited to the wedding,” he said. “because I think Hillary and Bill, properly, want to keep this thing for Chelsea and her soon-to-be husband.”
Obama said he agreed with the sentiment and told the hosts and the audience, “Sorry, ya'll probably will not be getting invited to Sasha’s wedding or Malia’s wedding, either.”
The complete interview airs Thursday at 11 a.m. ET on ABC.
‘Dragon Tattoo’ female lead could go to unknown
Daniel Craig signed on for the role of Mikael Blomkvist in the American screen adaptation of Steig Larsson’s “Girl With the Dragon Tattoo,” and the Daily Beast has unearthed the four actresses in the running to play the female lead, Lisbeth Salandar.
What might come as a surprise to many is that all the potential actresses are fairly unknown. Prior to this, the names bandied about included Natalie Portman and Mia Wasikowska (the latter being my personal pick).
According to the Daily Beast, director David Fincher has it narrowed down to Australians Sophie Lowe (starring in the forthcoming thriller “Blame”) and Sarah Snook (“Sleeping Beauty”), American Rooney Mara, who co-stars in Fincher's upcoming Facebook film “The Social Network” and French actress Lea Seydoux, who appeared in “Inglourious Basterds” and “Robin Hood.”
Rachel Uchitel briefly quits 'Celebrity Rehab'
Rachel Uchitel was a last-minute add to "Celebrity Rehab," and was almost the show’s first dropout this season. According to RadarOnline, after filming the first episode, Uchitel told producers that she was quitting the show and fled to the L'Ermitage Hotel in Beverly Hills.

"After a very intense day of filming, Rachel just couldn't handle being at the Pasadena Recovery Center where 'Celebrity Rehab' is filmed, and she decided to leave," the source said.
But not to worry: Uchitel was reportedly coaxed back. "Producers made her realize that if she continues to run away from her issues, she will never be able to live a healthy life," a source with VH-1 said.
Carol Channing prefers Johnny Depp
Though nothing has been set in stone, Carol Channing would be "ecstatic" over the idea of Johnny Depp playing her in a bio pic, her publicist Harlan Boll told TODAYshow.com.
"Carol thinks that it's wonderful," he said. "She's never seen a woman play her. She said, 'I was beginning to think I have a hormonal problem.' "
Depp has said his dream role would be to portray the actress/singer. “I love her, I really do. She’s amazing,” he told Britain's The Mirror. Channing touched base with the actor to thank him for the compliment, but "nothing was done (like) saying, 'Do you want to pursue this?' " Boll said.
