Lindsay Lohan isn't going anywhere fast.

Los Angeles Sheriff's Department spokesman Steve Whitmore tells E! News that reports that the actress could be getting out of slammer much earlier than thought, even possibly this week, are not true.

"Nothing has changed," Whitmore says. "When she was incarcerated I said a couple of weeks and it hasn't been a couple of weeks. That turns out to be the first part of next week. It could be Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, something like that."

And that has to be a blow to Team LiLo.

Just moments before Whitmore dashed her dreams, Lohan's off-on lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, expressed hope that jail officials might release the 24-year-old trainwreck by the end of the week due to overcrowding.

More from E!: Lindsay's lost weekend (for visits)

"I have my fingers crossed and Lindsay does too," the legal eagle told E! News earlier today upon leaving the Century Regional Correctional Facilty after a second powwow with the actress.

Holley painted a far happier picture of Lohan than others have, including former fellow jailbird and E! reality star Alexis Neiers, who said Lohan was acting hysterical and crying when she first entered the lockup.

"She's fine," Holley insisted, claiming Neiers' first-hand report was "not true."

Holley also pooh-poohed stories that Lohan was getting teased about her bisexuality and her relationship with former flame Sam Ronson, who paid Lohan a visit last week.

The attorney added that Lindsay and her jailers have a "mutual respect."

That's good to hear, considering Lohan will be spending more quality time with them in the coming days.
