Grigorieva says Gibson not paying for child

Mel Gibson’s image continues to take a beating, thanks to circumstances surrounding his breakup with Russian musician Oksana Grigorieva, who gave birth to the couple’s daughter, Lucia, last October.

After filling a restraining order against Gibson last week, Grigorieva claims that he is not paying any child support.

“He is not paying me a penny. Nothing,” Grigorieva told British paper The Mail on Sunday. “I am having to live on credit cards and borrowed money. It is not a good situation.”

There were reports last week that Gibson filed a restraining order against his ex , but Grigorieva claims that is not the case.

“There is no restraining order against me, but my lawyers went to court and a judge granted a restraining order against him,” she told the paper. “There are so many lies being said about me. I was trying to keep things dignified and be respectful to the father of my daughter, but what he is doing is cruelty.”

Gibson, who in 2009 divorced Robyn, his wife of 28 years, has not responded to Grigorieva’s claims.

Christina Aguilera strikes out with M.I.A.
Singer M.I.A. collaborated with Christina Aguilera on Aguilera's “Bionic” album, and as it turns out, it wasn’t a match made in heaven — at least for M.I.A. She partnered with Aguilera to write the track “Elastic Love” but was surprised to find out that instead of using her own impressive vocal range, Aguilera insisted she wanted to perform in M.I.A.’s style.

“I really thought I was going to be able to go in there and get her vocals on to the next level, and she didn’t want to do it,” M.I.A. said to MTV UK. “She was like ‘You might think that’s great because it’s not what you do, but to me I’m really bored of it.’”

M.I.A said that “Elastic Love” was the first song she wrote for Aguilera, and when she later wrote M.I.A.’s next track, “Born Free,” she was surprised how different the two ultimately sounded.

When the song was leaked, many attributed the vocals to the edgier of the two — M.I.A. — and were surprised to find out that it was actually Aguilera’s song.

“It’s interesting getting to work with people who can do things vocally that you can’t … but yeah I only heard the song for the first time when everyone else did,” M.I.A. said.

So much for the Tom Cruise comeback
There’s no shame in not beating “Toy Story 3” during its second week in theaters — the film is proving to be an epic force, and made another $59 million this past weekend.

However, when you’re Tom Cruise, in a big budget, perfectly fit-for-summer action flick that spent a massive amount of money on marketing all over the globe, there is some shame in coming in No. 3, behind Adam Sandler's “Grown Ups.” The latter, which received scorchingly bad reviews, made $41 million, and Cruise and company only brought in $20.5 million.

If there’s an upside for 20th Century Fox, it’s that Cruise is huge in South Korea. “Knight and Day” opened at No. 1 there, as well as in Russia, Taiwan and Hong Kong. Cruise does have international appeal, and the studio can recoup some costs overseas.
