Those lingering rumors about the possibility that Howard Stern could replace Simon Cowell as “American Idol’s” resident grump can finally be put to rest. Although the veteran shock jock still counts himself as an “Idol” super-fan, he just can’t see himself sitting in Cowell’s seat.
“I like Simon,” Stern told E! Online. “I think he's great, but I tend to (do) more than just break people's hearts about their dreams in singing. I don't think that's my kind of job.”
So whose kind of job is it? Stern wasn’t prepared to jump into the ongoing guessing game.
Mistress shoots down James’ claim
Jesse James’ televised mea culpa didn’t earn him any sympathy from one of his alleged other women. In fact, shortly after Sandra Bullock’s soon-to-be ex-husband told the world he believed he intentionally sabotaged himself where extra-marital affairs were concerned, Michelle “Bombshell” McGee denied James’ version of events.

“When I was doing it, you know, one, I knew it was horrible; it made me feel horrible,” James said in his recent Nightline tell-all. “And two, I knew I would get caught eventually, and I think I wanted to get caught. I know for a fact now what it was, you know. I mean, it was me trying to self-sabotage my life.”
Not so, according to McGee.
“He took every precaution NOT to get caught,” the tattoo model insisted in an interview with In Touch Weekly. “I was only allowed to come up during after-hours at the shop. We could never go get food — even at his own restaurant.”

“Well, as far as a wedding date, you'll be the first to know," Pavelka dodged when asked directly about his supposedly upcoming nuptials by Radar Online, although he did note, “(Vienna) picked her shoes out.”
Not that footwear isn’t a perfectly good indicator of ... something, but Pavelka’s non-committal responses to commitment-related questions certainly seemed to say a lot more. When pushed for any when or where details about the wedding, the pilot instead turned to more practical relationship talk.
“We're just dating, having a good time, you know, getting to know each other,” Pavelka said. “We've been together for seven months now, and we've been engaged for seven months now, and each day just gets sweeter and sweeter.”
Dish on the fly
When Jake Gyllenhaal landed the lead role in the video-game-to-big-screen release “The Prince of Persia,” he went into the part with a new outlook on acting. “For a while I thought that to be a skilled actor you had to do things that were torturous,” Gyllenhaal told USA Today. But after a career filled with intense films such as “Brokeback Mountain” and “Brothers,” the 29-year-old decided, “Now I feel more like having fun and enjoying myself.” … Keeping the peace with husband Josh Kelly isn’t as important as telling it like it is for “Killers” star Katherine Heigl. “There are some things that if you say them out loud it will hurt the other person's feelings,” the actress explained in an interview with Parade magazine. “I tend to say them anyway because I think it's better to be honest. I gave Josh a really hard time recently because he got this new haircut for a photo on the country album he's releasing. I really didn't like it, even though everybody else loved it. I was like, 'You don't look like you. You're really sexy, you're a manly man and this is kind of a metrosexual look.' Finally, he just stopped listening to me.” For the record: Team Josh.
