This one was predictable: Kate Gosselin’s decision to join the cast of “Dancing With the Stars” has reportedly made her ex-husband, Jon Gosselin, very unhappy. According to Us Weekly, he thinks he should be able to see the kids more than his current visitation because his ex-wife will be travelling to Los Angeles where “Dancing With the Stars” is taped.

“Jon’s angry because doing ‘Dancing With the Stars’ will keep her away from the kids for days, and she still won’t let him have any extra custody,” a source close to Jon Gosselin told Us Weekly. “Nannies will watch them instead of Jon.”

When news of Kate Gosselin’s participation in “DWTS” broke, sources close to her confirmed that part of the reason she was doing the show was because of the paycheck. (She stands to earn upwards of $100,000 by appearing on the show.)

A source — one who’s a not a Kate Gosselin fan — said that while the paycheck is a good reason to do the show, fame is also a factor. “She’s obsessed with being a celebrity,” the source told the magazine, and she “doesn’t stop to think about whether or not the kids will miss her,” said the source.

In other Gosselin news, Playgirl magazine will not be ponying up for a Jon Gosselin shoot — at least it won’t offer anything near the reported $100,000 Levi Johnston got for posing. Slideshow: Celebrity Sightings

Should Jon ever agree to pose for the magazine, his payday will be substantially less. “We discussed it, and we’d offer him only $20,000,” Playgirl rep Daniel Nardicio told Life & Style.

His diminishing popularity has something to do with it. “His star is extinguishing, and honestly, it’d be more of a novelty than an actual sexy shoot,” Nardicio said.

Osmond’s son’s suicide takes loved one by surprise
The suicide of Marie Osmond’s son Michael Blosil came as a shock to those closest to him, according to good friend Ruthann Clawson, whom Blosil texted just before his death.

“I am completely crushed and taken by complete surprise,” Clawson told In Touch Weekly. “We talked about everything, and he never mentioned anything like that. He told me he wanted to be a father one day. He told me that he knew he had a purpose in life and was here for a reason.”

Blosil’s roommate Sean Srnik said that in the suicide note, Blosil described how he was taking his last shower and smoking his last cigarette before addressing Clawson personally, according to the magazine. “It was mainly about how close a relationship he had with Ruthann and how much he appreciated her and hopes she has a great life,” Srnik told In Touch.

Clawson added, “I don’t want anyone to think of Michael as a sad individual. He was far from friendless.”
